The Ugly Truth

May 25th, 2018 at 01:28 am

Posted the ugly truth over on my sidebar. Ugh, it hurts to see the actual numbers. I have a long road ahead of me but I am determined. I am going to use the Snowball method and get my Discover Personal Loan out of the way quickly. It should be gone by July. It will be good to see one less thing over there on the left Smile

I conducted an audit for Field Agent tonight which will bring in $3.00. I also scored free hot dog rolls using coupons.com. Perfect for the coming weekend. Earned .27 completing a survey. A drop in the ocean.

It was hard for me too, but as you knock these items out it becomes easier

Well, you've got a mountain to climb, but you can do it one baby step at a time. Good luck!

It's powerful to list them on your sidebar though. We can look at those debts and hate them with you! Looking forward to cheering when that Discover is gone.

Lol, Jenn! "we can hate them with you." So true of those of us here.

Good plan to start with the lowest balance!

Did the total surprise you? Your original post said close to $20K, when it's closer to $30K. It does help to know those actual numbers you are up against.

You did not list interest rates, remember that you can keep an eye out for lower rate cards and transfer if the fee isn't too horrendous. Definitely do the math to see if the savings on any transfer is worth the fee.

That is not terrible. I started out with debt close to that amount, and now I've been debt-free for a number of years. Keep at it! When you're focused, it works!

It''s difficult to post the numbers, well done. We're here to o suggestion and cheer your every success. With school term ending shortly, what d your teens plan for summer? What no cost/low cost community events are available tat would be of interest? Does DS [growing by the minute] need new clothes? Do you or DD have apparel to possibly sell at Local Consignment, Poshmark.com or similar? Wishing you well

Facing up to the truth is tough, but you've done it. And you didn't go into debt overnight, you won't get out overnight either. Just keep plugging away at it and keep mindful of your spending.

Can you post the interest rate for each loan next to them? That will keep it top of mind and guide you as to where next after the discover loan you should focus your attention.
